The cafeteria environment presented several specific challenges:

  1. The need for exceptional durability to withstand heavy foot traffic
  2. Resistance to damage from tables, chairs, and carts
  3. Adequate slip resistance for safety
  4. Easy maintenance requirements

Working with Resinwerks, the school selected a Simerrazzo™ simulated polished terrazzo flooring system as their solution. The installation process began with surface preparation, followed by a clear primer to ensure maximum substrate adhesion. The team then applied a pigmented white Rapid H2O EP with a custom-curated Simerrazzo flake blend. This specialized water-based broadcast coat was crucial for achieving the desired flat flake positioning. After curing, the floor received two grout coats of LevelGuard EP Clear cycloaliphatic epoxy, followed by sanding and a final topcoat of HDC 100 Urethane.
