River's Edge Brewery Renovation in Milford, Michigan
Established in 2014, River's Edge Brewery has become a cornerstone of the Milford, Michigan community, situated along the scenic Huron River. The brewery recently underwent an expansion project that included renovating its existing kitchen and brewery production area while adding a new tasting room to accommodate its growing customer base and award-winning beverage program.
The project required a flooring solution that would:
Complement the brewery's contemporary aesthetic
Integrate with local artwork and wall murals
Perform in both hospitality and production environments
Address challenges of aged concrete substrate
Working with Resinwerks, the brewery owners selected a clear concrete coating system that would deliver both the desired aesthetics and durability. The installation process began with planetary grinding using PCDs to remove existing adhesive and mastic. After completing the necessary repairs, the team applied Rapid H2O EP as a fast-drying, water-based primer to ensure maximum adhesion. This was followed by a thick application of LevelGuard clear epoxy, chosen for its self-leveling properties and minimal ambering characteristics. The system was completed with a semi-gloss HDC 100 Urethane topcoat to provide superior scratch and chemical resistance.
